Some of the good foods for lizards are mealworms, spiders, beetles, and flies. Vitamin and calcium supplements should as well be given on a periodic basis. They are not compulsory, but may not be good if eliminated totally.

If you are first time buyer of a lizard, you need to learn how to handle lizards. Leopard geckos can be the easier species to handle as they do not require terrariums or any particular UVA lighting. You may even prefer going for a bearded dragon as they are easy to handle, however they can be somewhat demanding pets.
